NOTORIOUS DUVET GANG present

DUVET VOUS?

THE NOTORIOUS DUVET GANG got it together way back in 1999 when a few Bristol (UK) reprobates found themselves repeatedly up all night in the name of good times and house music, a rare commodity in Bristol during those days of Drum and Bass and Acid Techno.

In fact, it was only Anil's roots in the northern territories of DIY and SMOKESCREEN SOUNDSYSTEM, which had brought the NDG into contact with this proper, no holds barred, underground house in the first place, and little did they know at that time how much it was to affect their futures and influence their friendships.

It was during this period that they found themselves acquainted with the ways of The Duvet and needless to say, they have never looked back. Saturday mornings, Sunday mornings, monday mornings, tuesday mornings, spent relaxing in muntersville beneath feathery down, or perhaps just cheap supermarket polyester, with the sounds they loved turned up loud on the stereo.

Anil started to use the NDG name to represent their small collective of DJ's on flyers for small club nights around Bristol in places such as Easton Community Centre and the now defunct venues Tony's Cellar Cafe and The Rummer, as well as collaborating with larger nights at the time such as Future Funk and Dig in whilst also continuing to be involved in the free party scene.

Things continued in this way until 2001 when DUVET VOUS? was born, holding it's first larger scale night at The Blue Mountain Club.

Since then DUVET VOUS? has held a continuous presence in Bristol, with The NDG promoting events at The Black Swan, Timbuk 2, The Queens Head (Easton) and Chesters Club, as well as making appearances at many other events including Ashton Court Festival and Bloom Festival, they have also played host to many of the worlds best known underground house DJ's such as INLAND KNIGHTS, JAY WEST, KINKY MOVEMENT, JAZZY EYEWEAR, JOHNNY FIASCO, DA SUNLOUNGE and JASON HODGES to name a few.

With residents coming and going over the years The NDG has managed to keep the enthusiasm alive through thick and thin and remain true to their ethos of 'Minimal effort/Maximum fun' always placing atmosphere and music way above slickness or profit, and always endeavouring to choose venues where the bouncers are easy going and the soundsystem rocks. In ten years The NDG has barely made a penny, whilst losing many, and any pennies that have been made have unquestionably been thrown into the afterparty 'booze hat' for all to share.

As notorious for the afterparties as they are for their clubnights, The NDG have famously trashed countless of their own homes in the name of keeping their guests happy, with some of the residences becoming legendary venues in their own rights, much to the dismay of many a poor landlord (Oh dear) but much to the delight of countless partygoers. The DUVET afterparties certainly go down in Bristol's history, and have shown some of our overseas guests a side to partying in the UK which, through word of mouth, has brought some of the finest DJ's to play at Duvet Vous? for next to nothing, just for the Duvet spirit!

With no sign of DUVET VOUS? coming to an end at any time soon, The NDG are in preparations to make 2010 a year to remember. Get your sheets washed, and get ready to join the fun.
