DUVET RESIDENTS
IN HIS RECORD BAG: Cajual; Drop Music; (Still awaiting further instruction...;))
ANIL
Anil began DJing in '94, inspired to have a go after being 'blown away' at Voodoo club in Liverpool by RICHIE HAWTIN, but it was hearing John and Laurence (Now of INLAND KNIGHTS) play at a SMOKESCREEN party that turned him on to house music. His love of house music continued to grow and Smokescreen and DIY parties became an integral part of the mid 90's for Anil, both musically and socially. He made the move to Bristol in '97 but his links to the East midlands scene have remained strong.
House music was thin on the ground 'down South' with only one other crew promoting underground house: 'Fruity Antics', but they 'thought he was a weirdo and wouldn't let him go on the decks'. The only thing to do was to start putting on his own parties, and so in '99 THE NOTORIOUS DUVET GANG was born. Anil has been promoting NDG nights for a decade now and has been a major player in bringing underground house music to the Bristol scene,as well as being well known for his general bad behaviour. DUVET VOUS? has brought a host of likeminded souls together and continues to do so to this day.
NED
A man of eclectic tastes, and a long standing Duvet Vous? resident, Ned began his DJ career in '91, playing Techno, House and Oldschool Electro to the residents of Bath,UK, at both The Hat and Feather pub and at house parties.
He moved down the road to Bristol in '95, but it wasn't until circa 2001 that he found himself sharing a place of work with Duvet's Anil, where hours spent fixing old kit at his stepdad's shop Electrofix were passed in communicating a shared love of house music . And boy can Ned 'share' . On hearing Ned's demo mix CD Anil booked him to play at an NDG night at the now demolished MAZE CLUB, where he played alongside now retired Duvet veteran Zoe. And he swears it's been a 'matrimony of fun' from that day on.
His influences include... Idjut Boys; Inland knights; Kevin Saunderson;
Greg Wilson; Easygroove and DIY's Jack and Pez.

MIKKAEL
Mikkael first hooked up with The NDG after meeting Stu and Ned at 7th Sun Festival a few years ago where he was playing on the infamous Smokescreen Soundsystem, impressed with his style the gang soon invited Mikkael to come and play alongside Giom at The Black swan club, then again at T he Queens Head, Mikkael was now in love with Duvet Vous? and they felt the same way about him. And that was that.
Mikkael says " I play a mix bag of deep chunky underground house from all around the world. I have a lots of chicago house at the moment. I always keep a few vinyls with me all the time just because I'm too lazy to burn them on to cd, I might have to do this soon though as vinyl decks are becoming rarer and rarer to find when you play out these days"
Mikkael also produces and releases his own tracks, for more on Mikkael click here.
"What's in my record bag is always changing but I like to play anything that get's me dancing behind the decks! Come down for a listen, I love the Duvet crowd!"
